California will be submitted one team to the America's Showcase event in St. Louis held April 18 through April 23. The purpose of the showcase is to allow high school players who are not traditionally scouted the chance to be seen by every major hockey program in the United States including prep, college, junior and professional. This program is available to High School Juniors and Seniors that are not on a tier team.

California High School Ice Hockey Team to Compete in America’s Showcase
California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) is excited to announce that California will be sending a team of High School ice hockey players to participate in the 2018 Annual America’s Showcase National Hockey Tournament. Players from the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League (ADHSHL), Los Angeles Kings High School League (LAKHSHL) along with the Northern California High School Hockey Leagues will combine to form Team CA. The USA Hockey event which has been held in Pittsburgh, PA the past 6 years is now moving to St Louis, MO and will take place April 19-23, 2018.
Selected to lead the 2018 edition of Team California in this tournament will be Coaches Jeff Noviello (JSerra), Dan Adams (Orange Lutheran) and Barry Sherer (Damien). This staff has lead Team California in the past and has the experience to lead and promote the student-athletes to the many scouts in attendance.
“With our past performance and the level of play at the high school level in California, I look forward to seeing the top level of player at the try-outs. Going to St. Louis to represent the State of California in the Showcase is a tremendous way to conclude the high school season.” says Coach Noviello. “Last year’s performance was a great step, we need to continue that success on the national level.” affirms Coach Adams.
This tournament is an annual event for scouts from many colleges, junior hockey programs, and central scouting organizations throughout the country to come and see some talented players compete.
Team California must consist of only junior and senior students in good academic standing who participate in the high school leagues throughout the State. Try-outs for Team California are set for February 9 th and 10 th at The Rinks-Anaheim Ice in Southern California.
