History-making CAHA State Finals
The CAHA State Finals were last weekend at Solar4America Ice in San Jose. NORCAL took five of the eight titles. Here are the results:
Bantam A - Calif. Wave(3)
Bantam B - Lake Tahoe Grizzlies
PeeWee A - Lake Tahoe Grizzlies
PeeWee BB - S.F. Sabercats
PeeWee B - Tri-Valley Blue Devils
Squirt A - San Diego Jr. Gulls
Squirt BB - San Jose Jr. Sharks
Squirt B - L.A. Jr. Kings(2)
Lake Tahoe took home 2 banners which is a first for the small, isolated, and picturesque club.
At the 12 BB level, the San Francisco Sabercats won in double overtime with the San Jose Jr Sharks Girls. This is the first time NORCAL has sent a Girls team to this event and they battled hard all weekend and finished as the finalist. Another "girl power" note in this game was the Sabercats goalie is, also, a girl.
